Since we only competed in the afternoon, we didn't go to the Arena only until 2 plus. We waited for the bus for nearly half an hour! Stupid.
We came with our uniforms, and the girls in full make up for the first time. Sandra looked like as though she was going for her wedding!
Anyways, we saw some of the teams competing in our division. We were very nervous. The Americans were there. But thank God, we were not in the same divisions! We met some of the BCA staff who came to Malaysia this year and the past year. Becky (who came this year) was helping us alot. She was really nice!
Well we were nervous! The crowd went frenzy crazy went the MC announced our name. My gowd....I was so nervous.
We started off well, the intro was our best bet! I fell one stunt, the single base load. Hehehe. Jill's foot slipped from my left hand. Dame. When it was time to cheer...everyone was so quiet. I wondered why. Then I found out later, from the judges they love the way we cheered. Like Dynamitez lah...tapi tak sekuat dia orang. That is why they went silent, to listen every word. Wow!
At the end of the day after day 1, we were in second place! We got a penalty for our finale, which was nobody fault. If the pyramid went up, the penalty would have not been there. It's ok.

Day Three (afternoon) - Nottingham Arena
The girls are next for the qualifying dance division. It was another nervous moment. Because it is the first time we are competing for any dance division internationally. Though we didn't use the poms like other team, I was confident the crowd will love the routine....
I was ready on the music box to cue the music,when the MC announced, "please welcome all the way from south east asia, Team Allstars of Malaysia!".....wahhhh...the stadium roared! Trumpets cheering everywhere. I was nervous. The girls came in confidently, with a choreographed moves. I love it. Hehehe...
They started with Asmaradana then a piece from a famous musical. Afterwards they dance to a remix of Britney and Missy Elliot song. We had a small cheer song, then we put in Hollaback by Gwen Steffani and ended with Boom Shack Shack Boom by the old rapper guy (I forgot his name!)
The USA judge, his name Sean, came to me and congratulate for the impressive dance. I was so happy! They should win on Sunday!

Day Three - Nottingham Arena
The day has arrive. I get to wear the new All Stars uniform to the Arena. It was a nerve wrecking morning. Went for breakfast and met other teams there. Lagi lah nervous! We took the bus with another team, while on board I saw the Americans! Gosh!....Lagi lah nervous nervous!
When we reach the stadium, we had problem of entering because we had no ID yet. Well we weren't sure at first because we don't know anyone except for Bob, BCA president. He arranged everything for us. Then, finally found out it was the organisers problem. A BIT unorganise lah. But its okay, we got in with our passes! Yahoooooo

The stadium was nice. It is not as big as Stadium Putra, but just nice for the competition. The backdrop banner was huge though. They had 2 mats, one in front where we use it for the competition, and one behind for us to warm up and so. Which was a good idea.
Our first event was the partner stunt, our first time. We don't know what to expect. We watched last years video and well, the competition is tough. We had difficulty but to make sure a clean routine was difficult. Below is the combination that we did in 1min 30 sec!
Members - Jude (Base/spotter), John (Base/spotter), Carmen (Base/spotter), Nita (Base/Flyer) and Sandra (Flyer)
Combination 1 - 180 elevator to pop over to elevator, craddle twist reload to toss (toe touch)
Combination 2 - Grin & Bear It, show extension to straight extension. Craddle to log roll and flatback.
Combination 3 - Toss (toe touch) reload 360 elevator to show kick and arebesque
Combination 4 - Front walkover to straight extension, heel stretch and scale!
WE GOT SIXTH! If not because of the walkover (it was illegal, because we can't do tumblings in this division!), which we didn't know, we could have finished in Top 3 easily! And Sandra fell in the 360 elevator. But not bad! We are happy with it!

Day Two - Nottingham University, campus, Sherwood residence
The whole was spent at the campus. We were put to stay at the Sherwood residence with a few other teams which include Heartforshire Sirens, Atlantic Angels and Reading Bunnies. We put up our Good Luck banner in the afternoon. We had our brunch, which we had to get used to for next few days. Forget Nasi Lemak, anything that is Goreng, or pedas. Its Western for the next days!
The morning right til the late afternoon was raining. Though it was not really heavy, we didn't want to risk everyone. In the middle of the campus was a wide green field, realy good to train. But we only manage to train at 8pm. It was still bright. We trained the stunt routine, which attracted a few teams dropping by watching us. I was tensioned! And nervous! We had the Katz Elite giving us a few tips. And made friends with other teams too.

Day One - London, Heathrow Airport
We touchdown at London at 6.15pm local time. The 12 hours flight took its final toll, everyone was really excited when the MAS steward announced the welcome announcement! Being the first cheerleading team to go aboard was a great feeling. I was proud of the feat.
At the check point, we had no trouble with all the passports. My first instant glance of the airport, I never thought I was in London or somewhere in Europe because most of the people were Asians (either tourists or workers at the airport). Even the lady who checked our passports was an Asian! Weird.
We assembled at a lounge where all waiting passengers lepak. Saw a few taking a nap, some reading, and some just seating and doing nothing. We had to check our bus to Nottingham at the NationalExpress counter. And bought the last bus that leaves at 12.55am
We stayed at the lounge for nearly 4 hours, just waiting and kill time. The reason we took the last bus was because we wanted to reach at Nottingham as latest as possible as our booking for accommodation was to check in only the next morning.
We arrived Nottingham Broad Marsh station at 3.15am! Nobody was at the station, except for 1-2 people who just got out of the local pubs waiting for the bus. The good thing is that the public transport in UK is 24 hours. Not like here, Intrakota and Metro buses only rides til 12midnite. We waited for another hour and left at 4.30am. We were lucky as the bus conducter was really nice to stop us at a nearer place instead of walking very far with our luggages. The walk from the stop to our campus was only less than 5 minutes.
One problem though, the office receptionist only opens at 7.30am! So we were all locked out outside the office under the very very cold weather for the next 1 and half hour! Gila! Thank god they opened much earlier, and got us into a waiting room. Really nice people.

Press Conference, a success!
Wow...the Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister's Office was really impressive with our performance today!
And he personally donated RM2000!
And guess what again?! After the Press Conference, our Advisor, had a brief discussion with him regarding our plans for the future especially regarding to the setting up of the Malaysian Official Cheerleading Association! He has agreed to be the Patron!
Whhhhuuuuuuuu.....panas!
I will update on this again.
P/s: After our UK trip, he has invited us for lunch at Putrajaya with him! Jangan jealous.

BCA, Here We Go!!!
So....after a gruelling 1 year and a half, tossing in our mind to compete at international level and FINALLY.....we are making our wildest dream come true!
Team All Stars will be flying off to London this Wednesday (July 27) with Malaysia Airlines, flight MH4 at 12noon. We will touchdown at London's Heathrow Airport at 6.10pm. We will then take the NationalExpress coach to Nottingham Broad Marsh station. That would be at 3am!!!! We will then wait for another bus that will ride us to the University, the competition venue and the place that we are going to stay for the next 5 days!
Competition begins on Friday with the Senior Partner Stunt at 9am. In the afternoon we have the Dance team competing in the qualifying rounds.
On Saturday, we will be on the blue mat performing our cheer routine at estimated 5.35pm. And come Sunday, the finals of all the events! I hope to bring good news here!
Please pray for the team's safety, especially at this period of time. If you read the news, you know what is happening around London and the suburbs. And hopefully, we will bring back honours for all cheerleaders in Malaysia!
NOTE:
This competition means a lot to the senior members, because it has been our dream since year 2003 to compete. And finally, we are going! We hope this new episode will create more opportunity for younger cheerleaders! So if you think this is fun, PLUS you have the commitment and dedication perhaps maybe next year you could go to UK yourself....!
