Day 2 Review

The second and final day of Cheer 2007 saw many teams performing a cleaner routine as compared to the day before. Shirtliff again maintained a clean routine. Dynamitez played safe with one stunt group which overall did not affected anything. Anchorz changed the intro stunts to avoid accumulating more infractions.

Favorites team like Blitzerz, Clayx and Cyrens all became the victim of infraction points which deterred them into the Top 15. Despite the better performance today, these three teams were still not able to match the top 5 winners. Another sad case would be the two CBN teams, Adele and Xavier who despite had a strong support from the supporters performed a not perfect routine. Especially the two teams looked very weak with the stunting execution despite the really nice dance choreography and formations.

The two Seafield team performed stronger today, which resulted in the surprising entry into the Top 5. The Girls team especially displayed a magnificient comeback and a cleaner excutions in the stunts skill. Sellors and Titans performed an energetic routine, with Titans coming back with a more silkier uniform and an amazing ending on the pyramid. It was a moment the stadium would remember!

Elsewhere, the Best Newcomer section saw three teams vying for spot. Two boys team, Calyx All-boys and Zodiac had to battled it out with the only outstanding all-girl newcomer team, Vibrant. Despite the later being the crowd favorite, Calyx came out tops.

Overall, the top 2 finisher was outstanding and in thier league of thier own. The competition for the 3rd placing to fifth was a wide race. In the end, the Vulcanz's and defending champion Titans were the best of all lot.

Congratulations to all winners!

Day 1 Review

41 teams competed on the blue mat today and only one team completed their routine in clean. Almost all teams, including the few favorites made wobbly stunt or falls which resulted in minor infractions from the total score.

3 notable teams that did not placed in the Top 15 today was Blitzers, Cyrens and Calyx. These three teams in particular showed how the building skills attempted weren't attentive enough. The execution wise was pretty low.

Teams like Muriels, Falcons and Zodiac instead manage to pullthrough with simplicity in their building skills and perfecting thier execution which earned them a spot in the Top 15.

Based on the DAY 1 performance, Dynamitez from SMK Damansara Jaya would be able to lift the trophy back again this year. Despite the fall in the 360, and concequently the other transitions, DJ squad impressed with their tumbling and jump techniques which was overall the best on the floor today.

Defending champion, Titans looked trying hard to defend thier title. There were 3 stunts which did not completed, and a music error with the DJ consule resulted in deduction of points. This simillar error happened to Stunners, who opened the floor today. The team had to count instead during the second music segment.

Sellors played well with the routine choreography, and sharp moves. The only setback was the building skills. St Mary team has a few good tumblers which earned them extra credits in that area.

Shirtliff made a great comeback. The only team today who performed a full clean routine. But they were a few rooms to improve, which can let them a chance to fight with the DJ team.

Xavier and Adele performed interesting routines, despite the low techniques with the building skills area. Choreography wise, Xavier had one of the best today. Entertaining and excuted well.

Anchorz who lost a flyer at the clinic, came back but not impressive enough to secure credits from the building skills despite having a nicely choreographed and balanced routine.

Dstarz made a comback that gave these girls a spot to be mentioned here. The only setback was the wobble stunting and low level of difficulty in the tumbling and jumps.

The most impressive boys team today is Vulcanz and Zodiac. They could spring surprises in the final day tomorrow.

All enough and said. Tomorrow, each team will have to focus on the weakness today especially avoiding to collect more infraction marks tomorrow.

Good luck and may the best team wins!

Cheer Clinic - Day 2 (Advanced)

The part two of the Cheer Clinic finally arrived, and it became obvious to know who was doing what and who would be at the higher ground of claiming the National title.

The clinic for advanced teams again was spearheaded by Miss Gorman and her NCSSE state directors and cheerleaders. All were seem to be ready to be impressed by the skills standard cheerleading in Malaysia. Today saw the best cheerleading team in Malaysia, attending the clinic to sharpen thier techniques and drills.

The most outstanding team was Dynamitez, from SMK Damansara Jaya. Shirtliff from SMK Seri Bintang Utara also seem to impressed. Last years prize winners, Sellors, Blitzerz and Anchorz also shined. The most improved team would have been Dstarz from SMK (P) Sri Aman.

Based on the techniques showed from all the teams, SorakMalaysia has came down to it's National 2007 Hotshot Lists!

Cheer Clinic - Day 1 (Beginners)

The Cheer 2007 Grand Finals kicked off with the Cheer Clinic today. Newcomers and some teams making a comeback were present. The clinic was headed by the Cheer judges from USA. Miss Anne Gorman, the chief judge was assisted by her National Council for Spirit Safety and Education (NCSSE) state directors Jill Spearman and Jeni Scherer.

The clinic began with a short demonstration from sponsor Silkygirl. Right afterwards, NCSSE certified cheerleaders Samantha Gorman and Samantha Callan led all cheerleaders for warming up and stretching.

It was down to business then, when Miss Anne announced that each team will be visited by the judges and assisted by cheerleaders from CHARM All-stars to guide and help out on the routine, particularly stunting.

In just a breather, all teams were seen ready to show what they have got. Falcons from Sek Sri Bestari who is making a comeback seemed to be the most advanced of all. But the most interesting bit for today's clinic was to see who are the front runners for the Best Newcomer title.

From the clinic, SorakMalaysia has already put its bet on the following team(s) for the newcomer hotshot!
