Have fun to CHARM All Stars!
I would like to wish our good friends, CHARM All-Stars, a good luck and safe trip to Singapore again this weekend! CHARM has been invited to perform once again for being the ultimate champion at the Cheer Rock! Competition last December.
CHARM All-Stars will be sending a 30-strong entourage to cheer at the Chingay Parade of DreamS, this weekend February 3-4.
Malaysian cheerleading community has taken the cheerleading world by storm the last year. I hope many more international achievements will consider the empowerment of Malaysian cheerleading to greater heights!
To Team Allstars of Malaysia, all the best for your 2006 program! BCA 2006 is only 6 months away. Good luck!

Overseas trip?
Just pouring in some more suggestion in making your cheerleading program much more exciting. Since there are not much cheerleading competition (duh!) for your to compete at, maybe you could try and lookout for competitions abroad. It is not necessary that you have to fly to the US of A and compete with the giants! There are competitions in the region, where your team (high school) level is allowed to compete at.
- Thailand Cheerleading Competition (January 21st & 22nd), Bangkok, Thailand
- Cheerobics 2006 (March 2006), Singapore
- Festival Italia (1st - 7th April 2006), Rimini, Italy
- 17th International Cheerleading Championships (29th - 31st July), Nottingham, UK
In order to compete at these overseas competition, there are many many things you ought to do. Firstly, you have to make sure that your team is 100% prepared for a high level competition. Second, to get the full pledge support from your parents, school admin, the education ministry. Thirdly, raise funds!
Team All Stars is preparing for the UK competition again. We are competing to hopefully win more honours. If you wish to know more of the competition and know how, you can buzz me.
Good luck with tryouts everyone!

School season has now reopen. And everything seemed to be going back on track again. As for most of the freaky cheerleaders, all they want to do is to start practices ASAP. Well here is a few pointers from me of what should be carried out before you go on field.
School Admin
The most vital aspect of building a cheerleading program at your school. Is better to meet your principal or teacher advisor and discuss on your cheerleading plans for this new year. This would include having tryouts to select a new team. If you have a coach, it would be much better as your coach would be your best mate. A coach is essential, and to me, I consider him or her part of the team.
Announcement
You might need a few help from your cheerleading team mates on this. Posters, assembly announcements and etc should be put up on notice. Nobody likes to do things last minute, meaning it is inappropriate if you announced the tryouts only a few days earlier. At least give everyone a 2 weeks notice. In your announcement you should specify what are you looking for and perhaps get them prepared by providing cheers to learn etc.
Tryouts
Who will select the team is up to you. But to have a fair judging and a little professional help, you could always invite foreign coaches or individuals who has experienced in cheerleading. You could invite the good people from CHARM and MOCHA to provide the necessary assistance in selecting your new members.
Note: Tryouts is better to be held in 2 days basis instead of a one try only. On the first day, you could use introductions of basic cheerleading skills which would include motions, jumps and basic stunt. Teach a cheer and dance too. Then, have your tryouts maybe 2-3 days after that so those who audition can at least practice what they have learned. This way, you wouldn't be frustrated! Trust me.
Planning
Write down your plans and goals for this year. Discuss them with your coach or advisor, and your team members. Look out for competition dates, clinics or camps. You could enquire with CHARM or MOCHA for any cheerleading related activities. Once you have compiled them, make sure all your members have a copy. It is also advised that your team should have a cheerleading constitution. This would enhance your program. Consult your coach or advisor for further assistance.
Having a cheerleading program that is organised and efficient will definetly provide further excitement within your team! Have fun cheering and see you all soon!

Team All Stars has planned up many other events. Rangsit will be coming back again to teach more techniques. Hopefully more will participate. We will going back to UK to compete, and perhaps this time around to win more honours!
